What is Multi-Factor Authentication?
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is a security method that requires users to use multiple factors for verification in order to gain access to an account or system.
In addition to a password, there is an additional security factor - in this case via a Authenticator app.
An authenticator app generates unique, time-limited codes that the user must enter when logging in. This provides additional protection for the account, as access is only possible if you have both the password and the current code from the app. This method significantly increases security and makes it more difficult for unauthorized persons to gain unauthorized access.
How do you activate Multi-Factor Authentication for your account?
Go to your settings via the dashboard under "Your Settings". Under Security you can now use an authenticator app such as Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator (available for free in the Google Play Store and Apple Store) or 1Password to generate an authentication code. Simply scan the QR code with your app.
After scanning, the app generates a code. Enter this and confirm with "Verify & Enable".
